Origin of Sacred Heart Congregation
Sacred Heart Congregation was founded by Venerable Fr.Mathew Kadalikkattil in 1911 in Kerala. He was a zealous priest and a great model for all those who came in contact with him. He was filled with compassion to uplift the oppressed. One of the greatest contributions of Rev.Father is the commencement of women education. The care of the sick and the destitute, social welfare services and such other activities were also undertaken according to the needs of the church and the people of the locality. His mission is continued by the Sacred Heart Sisters through various charitable institutions in different parts of India. At present we have educational institutions in Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Punjab, Madhya Pradesh, Utter Pradesh, Jharkhand, Gujarat, Karnataka, Tamilnadu and Kerala.
